I was able to visit a friend of mine at Isabella Geriatric Care. When I visited one time they have a program going on like music and therapy. She is in a shared room, and the residents are not spending a lot in their room. There were lots of resources within the facility. For admittance, Isabella seemed to be like limited followup. When inquiring and in terms of navigating admittance there, the staff wasn't good with following up.

Think the facility was well maintained and looked very good compared to the other facilities I have visited. It was very large and had a variety of things for the residents to do.

The facility is a good alternative for seniors who need a high level of attention and full-time medical care. Also, they can accommodate seniors who are living with memory loss and who have difficulty with day-to-day activities, and who need special support on a regular basis. Additionally they can offer care to residents who are independent but also desire a hassle-free lifestyle with services like on-site maintenance, housekeeping, and community activities.
Depending on each resident’s needs, our Rehabilitation Therapy Team will develop and supervise a customized plan to enable the resident to gain optimal functionality. The average cost of care for this facility is about $7,187 monthly. The New York average for this type of care is around $7,585.
Village Care Rehab and Nursing Center
They had a dining area on each of the 13 floors, and you had a choice of going there for each of the three meals. They did also provide sandwiches, snacks, and fresh fruit in between. So, you could go in this room that was set up with tables, and the food was, I guess, almost prepared in that same room. I am sort of a gourmet so obviously it didn't quite match that. It was obviously mass produced, but considering the place where I was, it was OK, but not great.
Additionally, they offer various medical services including psychiatry services, cardiac care, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and nurses on site. Fort Tryon Center for Rehabilitation
Two years after Isabella's death, Anna Ottendorfer opened Isabella Heimath in Astoria, Queens. The home was originally dedicated to the care of indigent elderly women, per Isabella Uhl's wishes. Isabella Home moved to its present location in 1889 and simultaneously expanded its mission to care for both women and men, without regard to race, creed or nationality. Most resident rooms are shared, accommodating two residents.
Our staff consists of two board-certified pulmonologists. Our certified respiratory therapists provide comprehensive respiratory care. Residents of Isabella House may require home care services from time to time and are free to engage private home care services on their own as circumstances require. All residents age 60 and over who reside at 11 and 17 Ft. George Hill or at 45 Fairview Avenue are entitled to participate in Fort George VISTAS NORC social and wellness activities. The program is a formal partnership between the building’s Board of Directors, Isabella and the seniors living in the buildings.

Isabella is a little pricey, and it doesn’t fit my preference because I am still very high functioning, but it’s a very nice place. The staff was very professional and very informative as to what they have to offer. They have recreational and social activities.
